Coco’s Flower Market First Birthday

March 27, 2018

Ok, i’ll say it. Finally getting to plan a girl party was SO fun. Don’t get me wrong, trash truck parties and bear parties are still super fun and allow me to be creative but I dreamed of little girl parties too! I knew I didn’t want a super theme-y party for her and I knew I just wanted fresh flowers EVERYWHERE so naturally that led me to the flower market theme! I haven’t really seen it done either so that was another fun challenge about it!

My sister-in-law surprised me the day before the party and drove almost 10 hours to be there! She brought my niece, who Wyatt is obsessed with, and it was so special! I would be lying if I said I did this whole thing by myself! My sister-in-law helped me put up decor, cleaned my floors, cooked for my kids and pretty much did anything I asked of her. My friend Kara braved the flower market with me, I think I saw her throw some elbows (HA!) and blew up ALL of those balloons you’ll see in the photo! She even ran errands for me the day of! My mom and other sister-in-law helped with food prep and kids and just overall being my party slaves! It takes a village and Im so thankful for my people!

Since it was a flower market theme I just had to have an abundance of flowers everywhere, grouped in bins like they would be at a market! I put little price tags on them to make it feel like a market!

I ordered a plain white cake and plain white cupcakes and decorated them with clippings from all of the fresh flowers! It was so fun and bright and also a lot less expensive than buying intricately decorated baked goods!

Her little outfit was so cute. I searched around for a while for the perfect little romper that was soft and organic in color. I threw a hail mary and ordered this romper from a shop in New Zealand 9 days before the party. I cannot say enough about this shop because she hustled and got my order to me in 6 days!! I hit the nail on the head with this one and it paired so nicely with those adorable sandals! Of course she needed a flower crown for her flower party!

Coco loved when everyone sang to her! She didn’t love her her cupcake as much but that is pretty typical of her! Wyatt was very willing to jump in and help her try it, mostly because there was a lick in it for him! He is so sweet with her. She tried it, spit it out and was done. I love this crazy girl!

Probably my favorite detail from the party were the favors! I found adorable flower tattoos and they were a hit with both the kids and the adults. Instead of sending people home with plastic toys or candy, everyone got to pick and put together a bouquet of flowers from the “market”! It was so fun sending people home with bright and cheery fresh flowers! Kids got to keep their fun cups that they made!

That is my sweet niece posing with Wyatt and their flower tattoos! They live far apart but are inseparable when they are together. It is pretty sweet!

We asked for donations for the Kylie Rowand Foundation in lieu of gifts and we sang happy birthday before we ate lunch so we could just enjoy the people we love and not feel rushed! It was such a fun day celebrating Colette with a bunch of our favorite people!
