We just got back from 7 glorious days of waking up to the sounds of the waves and going to sleep watching the sun dip below the sea. There is something about little sandy toes and naps on lounge chairs that is so special. Watching my littles discover the ocean, the sand and getting to run wild all day is irreplaceable. I count down to this vacation every single year and let me tell you, this year didn’t disappoint! We moved about 5 houses south in Mission Beach, San Diego because we outgrew our old beach house (and the owner moved in, rude!). This house was a literal dream. The hot tub and the ocean facing fire pit were definitely highlights but other nice qualities were not sharing 2 bathrooms with 9 people and all the littles having their own sleeping space!
We ate WAY too much junk, we stayed up way too late, we lived by the water, rode bikes, hit the waves, built endless sand castles, became regulars at the ice cream truck, caught fish, soaked in the hot tub, laughed until we cried and didn’t want to come home!
I tried super hard to be present and intentional, put my phone (mostly Instagram) down and be in the moment. I took my big camera instead of my phone to the beach and documented as much as I could!

In this photo, uncle was telling her a joke trying to get her to smile, he says “maybe she has a dry sense of humor?” so he started a joke with, “a duck walks into a bar..” and all she hears is BAR! Then she’s mad again because she wants a Perfect Bar…LOL!
